The GoodCompany Access Fund

Help make regular support accessible

Having someone reliable to spend time with, get out with and share everyday activities with can make a meaningful difference. But regular paid support is not within everyone’s reach.

The GoodCompany Access Fund is being developed to provide sponsored places for older adults who would benefit from our support but face a financial barrier to accessing it.

We welcome businesses, individuals and community organisations interested in helping fund regular support across London.

What a sponsored place provides

Help make regular support accessible

Each place offers regular, in-person support from a carefully matched companion, with GoodCompany coordinating the arrangement throughout.

Time together is shaped around the older person’s interests and preferences. It might include conversation at home, a local outing, a favourite activity or encouragement to return to an enjoyable routine.

The number of funded places and the duration of support depend on the sponsorship available. Each arrangement begins once funding and a suitable companion match are confirmed.

Who the programme is for

We aim to reach older adults who:

  • Would welcome regular company and everyday support.
  • Have limited access to the support they would benefit from.
  • Face a financial barrier to paying for the service.
  • Have needs that fit within GoodCompany’s non-care support.

The older person’s wishes are central to every arrangement. GoodCompany does not provide personal care, medical care or emergency support.

How sponsorship is used

Sponsorship funds the delivery of support, including companion time, matching, checks, coordination, ongoing oversight and reporting.

This includes payment for the work GoodCompany does to organise and manage each placement.

Before accepting a contribution, we agree what it will fund, the expected delivery arrangements and what happens if the support cannot proceed as planned.

The Access Fund is a programme run by GoodCompany Connections LTD, not a separate charity. Recipients receive funded support rather than a cash payment.

Sponsorship packages start from 3 months (e.g., a 3-month Gentle Start placement is £2,200 fully managed).

We can also tailor 6- and 12-month arrangements for individuals, family trusts, or corporate sponsors.

Help fund a place

You can discuss sponsoring a place or contributing towards the programme.

We provide a costed proposal before you commit. Sponsors receive an agreed update covering how their contribution has been used, the support delivered and feedback where available.

Reporting protects participants’ privacy. Receiving support is never conditional on appearing in photographs, publicity or testimonials.

Looking for support for yourself?

You are welcome to enquire directly. You do not need a referral from a professional or organisation.

Tell us where in London you live and a little about the support you would welcome.

Please mention that you are enquiring about the Access Fund.

Funded places depend on sponsorship, suitability and companion availability. An enquiry does not guarantee a place.

Introducing someone else?

We welcome introductions from families, friends, neighbours, professionals and community organisations.

Please speak with the person first and make sure they are happy for you to contact us. Share initial enquiries privately rather than posting someone’s personal circumstances publicly.

What happens next?

We discuss the older adult's preferences, circumstances and support needs before confirming whether the programme could be suitable.

Before visits begin, we agree the hours, visit arrangements and funded period. We review the arrangement during the placement and discuss available options before funding ends.

There is no obligation to become a paying customer afterwards.
