For Partners & Sponsors

Know an older adult who could benefit from more company, connection or a little extra support?

You can refer them to GoodCompany.

We support people in later life who would benefit from seeing the same familiar person regularly, whether for conversation, outings, shared activities or light everyday support. Some people use GoodCompany on its own; others may already receive care from another provider.

GoodCompany itself does not provide personal, medical or emergency care.

What happens after you refer someone?

1. You tell us about them

Complete the referral form with a few details about the person and why you think GoodCompany could help.

2. We get in touch

We contact the older adult or their family to introduce GoodCompany and understand what kind of support they are looking for.

3. They decide

A referral does not commit anyone to the service.

The older adult is involved in the process from the beginning, and nothing moves forward unless they are comfortable.

4. The onboarding fee is paid

If everyone would like to move forward, the one-off £250 family onboarding fee is paid.

This covers the work involved in getting to know the family, beginning the matching process and arranging the introduction.

5. We find the right match

Once onboarding is complete, we begin the matching process and typically send a companion profile within 5 to 7 working days.

Private or Access Fund referral?

You can refer someone for:

Private GoodCompany support

For someone who is looking for one of our monthly support plans.

GoodCompany Access Fund support

For someone who would benefit from GoodCompany but may not be able to afford a private plan.

Access Fund places are limited and depend on available funding.

You do not need to decide which route is right before getting in touch. Tell us about the person and we can talk it through with you.

A referral should never feel like something being arranged behind their back

GoodCompany is built around independence.

That means the person being referred is part of the conversation and has the final say about whether they would like to continue.

You can open the door.

They decide whether to walk through it.
