About us
Why GoodCompany exists
GoodCompany was created to make it easier for older adults who live independently to enjoy regular, meaningful social time - without turning that time into care, therapy, or obligation.
Many families want to support an older relative’s social life but find that existing options are either informal, inconsistent, or bundled into care services that don’t feel appropriate.
GoodCompany sits in between.
What we do
We arrange paid, in-person social visits between older adults and younger companions, matched intentionally based on interests, availability, and location.
Visits are:
- Structured and time-bound
- Based on a consistent match, not one-off appointments
- Designed to feel settled, natural, and respectful
We manage matching, onboarding, and oversight so visits remain appropriate and within clear boundaries.
What we don’t do
GoodCompany is not a care provider.
We do not offer:
- Personal or intimate care
- Medical or mental health support
- Therapy or counselling
- Household tasks or errands
This clarity protects older adults, companions, and families alike.
Our approach
GoodCompany is built around a few simple principles:
- Consistency over ad-hoc visits
- Clear boundaries over blurred roles
- Paid time, respected on both sides
- Ongoing involvement, not set-and-forget matching
We believe social connection works best when expectations are clear and everyone’s time is valued.
Who the service is for
GoodCompany is designed for older adults who:
- Live independently
- Enjoy conversation and shared interests
- Benefit from regular social time
And for families who:
- Want a thoughtful, structured alternative to care
- Value reliability and oversight
- Prefer clear expectations for everyone involved
